Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s 21st Annual
Strategic Resource Management
Tools and Strategies to Enhance R&D Productivity, Forecasting, and Planning
October 9-10, 2024
Anticipating the resource needs of dynamic R&D portfolios and development projects is critical to optimizing productivity and delivering on program and portfolio strategy. Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s and the BioPharma Strategy Series’ 21st Annual Strategic Resource Management: Tools and Strategies to Enhance R&D Productivity, Forecasting, and Planning attracts senior R&D executives across pharma and biotech to share best practices and new ideas on how to ensure positive program and portfolio outcomes by aligning strategy, forecasting, staff planning, allocation, and capacity management with portfolio prioritization.
We are looking for new case studies from pharma and biotech. Companies with mature and emerging portfolios and with varying approaches and systems for resource management are encouraged to share specific lessons with this enthusiastic community. We are looking for implementation stories and lessons learned. Co-presentations featuring speakers from different departments involved in the project are encouraged.
Coverage will include, but is not limited to:
- Sourcing strategies within the ever-changing biopharma landscape
- Capacity planning in a resource-constrained environment
- Managing resources according to portfolio priorities
- Creating resource transparency across teams/organization
- Leveraging machine learning in resource forecasting
- Expanding the use of AI and data science in planning and forecasting
- Overcoming the fundamental challenges of resource planning for novel modalities/new cell & gene therapy lines
- Planning ‘accelerated’ and ‘standard’ project timeline scenarios and communicating both to the broader internal organization
- Evolving methods of partnering more effectively with strategic partners
- Benchmarking tools and strategies
- How to estimate and budget for non-project resources
The deadline for priority consideration is March 22, 2024.
All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
